Holy Monday

Week 7 The Crucifixion

Day 35: Having Full Confidence in God

(Holy Monday)

Level 1: (5 Minutes) As you breathe deeply today, imagine Jesus riding that colt into Jerusalem with people cheering.

Level 2: (10 minutes) Do Level 1. After Reading the scripture adaptation, take 5 minutes place any worry you may have in God’s hands.

Adapted from Philippians 4:6. 13, 19. Help me to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let me make my requests known to You. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. And My God, You shall supply all of my needs according to Your riches in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Level 3: (15 minutes) After pausing to breathe and reading the Scripture prayer, take 5 minutes to write or draw about what this scripture is showing you?

Level 4: (30-60 minutes) We are in the last week of Lent. This is truly a Holy Week. We have come a long way. For 35 days each of you has, at your own pace, placed thinking about God as a priority. Thank you for joining this beloved community. Do not judge yourself harshly if you have not been able to do this exactly as you had planned. Any time you spend with God is a blessing.

What have you learned about God and about yourself and about others? For me—this beloved community has helped me to see how precious our relationships with each other are. Today this particular Scripture is a blessing. When I read: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” I am comforted. Thirty-five days ago, I never imagined that I would be sent to an interim appointment at a church and preaching on Easter Sunday. I need to keep repeating that

What is happening in in your life that lets you know you need Christ’s strength? Let’s finish this week strong. Let us lean into God’s strength and feel the empowerment of hope that takes all that happens and transforms it into good. God bless you as we approach the most important celebration in our faith that blesses all—and wastes nothing.
